Dr. Ruslan Rakhimov is an Associate Professor in the Anthropology and International Development department at the American University of Central Asia. He holds his Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS) (2007-2011, France) and a candidate degree in historical sciences from the Kyrgyz Academy of Sciences (2006-2011, Kyrgyzstan). He received his Master of Arts in Public Administration from Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 (2006, France), and a specialized degree in International Relations from Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz State National University (2000, Kyrgyzstan).
Dr. Rakhimov joined 69ɫ in 2007 as an Assistant Professor in the Anthropology department. He is a co-founder and President of the Kyrgyz Anthropological Association, specializing in migration, environmental, and historical anthropology. His active collaborations within the Open Society University Network (OSUN) include significant contributions to the Policy Lab and Rural Sustainability projects, both initiatives of the Central European University (CEU). His research is instrumental in illuminating critical aspects of human interaction, mobility, and sustainability.
