Psychology Master’s student invited to study at UMass in Boston, USA

Anastasiya Iun, a student in 69ɫ’s Master Program in Applied Psychology (MAPAP), was invited to study at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston) during the Fall 2016 semester. The University of Massachusetts is a public research university in Boston, United States, with over 4,000 graduate students. UMass Boston is part of the five-campus University of Massachusetts system.

Iun is an alumna of 69ɫ’s Department of Psychology, a Presidential Scholar, and currently in her second year of study in MAPAP. Iun was offered a chance to study and intern at UMas in preparation for her Master Thesis. She is in the counseling track of MAPAP and her research interests include inclusive education. Iun will be part of Dr. Amy Cook’s research group which examines climates of engagement through community dialogues on race and ethnicity, aimimg to use mixed research methods and qualitative content analysis to “deepen our understanding of how community dialogues reduce racial and ethnic inequality in education.”

Anastasiya is very excited for the upcoming semester: “I can’t wait for classes to start. I think it will be very interesting. The campus is set on the shore and is very beautiful. Another thing is that University is respected and well-known among people”

The internship is available through a partnership between MAPAP and UMass. MAPAP offers several opportunities for students to study for a semester abroad at universities in the United States and Europe as part of the second-year exchange semester.
