Dr. Görkem Atsungur, Chair of the International and Comparative Politics and Dean of the Social Sciences Division, has received a research fellowship at Metharath University in Thailand (MRU) from 2024 until 2027.
This fellowship enables Dr. Atsungur to engage in research activities; collaborate with faculty from relevant universities and research centers worldwide; participate in virtual and on-site seminars, workshops, or guest lecture invitations by the MRU; and contribute to joint research projects and postgraduate supervision.
The fellowship, furthermore, includes an opportunity for publication reimbursements, particularly in Q4 and Q1 SCOPUS-indexed journals. Dr. Atsungur has unrestricted access to the MRU’s digital libraries, databases, and other online resources.
For Dr. Atsungur, this fellowship is a unique opportunity to integrate ICP students in various research projects and grants in Peace and Conflict Studies. The collaboration will build a bridge and future partnership between 69ɫ and MRU. The Metharath University was established in response to the need to educate young people to keep pace with global trends and rapid changes in work culture, thinking, and ways of doing things. Both 69ɫ and MRU have paid great attention and efforts to foster innovation and critical thinking in higher education. As a result, the fellowship will help to foster and promote the research activities of the ICP faculty and students and include engaged political research in the ICP curriculum.
