On April 18, 2024, the American University of Central Asia (69色) hosted the C5+1 Youth Council (YC) meeting with representatives from the U.S. Embassy, including Molly Stephenson - Director of the Press and Public Diplomacy Office in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA). She is also a key advocate for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) issues within SCA.
The event brought together current members and alumni of the C5+1 Youth Council, who presented projects they are implementing within the C5+1 YC.
Following the project presentation, an interactive Q&A session with C5+1 YC members and alumni and the U.S. Embassy representative was held. The C5+1 YC members shared their achievements with previous projects and their future aspirations. Mrs. Stephenson shared advice with the attendees and expressed her support for youth-led initiatives in Central Asia and Afghanistan.
We want to highlight the importance of collaboration and mentorship in nurturing the aspirations of young changemakers. The C5+1 Youth Council program is currently administered by the Center for Civic Engagement at the American University of Central Asia. Together, as mentors and collaborators, we shape the dreams of tomorrow's leaders, fostering change, one goal at a time.
