On August 22-23, 2024, the American University of Central Asia (69ɫ) held an extensive orientation program for the incoming New Generation Academy (NGA) students and the cohort of 2024-2025, which is the largest in 69ɫ's history with 120 students. This diverse group includes students from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, China, and Russia, making the university's multicultural environment even richer.

The orientation began on the 22nd, a day dedicated to NGA students. The day started with a welcoming speech by Michael Freese and the NGA Director Kamilya Kadyrova, setting a positive tone for the activities that followed. Ruslan Musalimov provided an overview of the day's agenda, which was designed to equip students with the knowledge and resources they need for a successful start at 69ɫ. They warmly welcomed the new students, emphasizing the significance of their academic journey at 69ɫ. NGA alumni also participated, sharing their insights into academic and extracurricular achievements and engaging directly with the students during an interactive Q&A session. The day was filled with practical sessions on student ID cards, study agreements, tuition payments, and an introduction to 69ɫ's digital tools and resources. In the afternoon, students met with their advisers to discuss academic requirements and took a mathematics placement test to ensure proper placement. The day concluded with a Treasure Hunt game, where alumni-led groups explored the 69ɫ campus, helping new students become familiar with their environment in a fun and engaging way.

The orientation continued on August 23rd for the broader cohort of 2024-2025. Key sessions included a presentation by the Writing and Academic Resource Center (WARC), an introduction to the 69ɫ Library, and a practical session on user account activation. Additionally, Elmira Amandykova and Lilya Muslimova provided essential information on health and safety, ensuring that students know the necessary precautions and support available at 69ɫ. The day wrapped up with presentations on the "Green 69ɫ" initiative and the "Civic Engagement Office," encouraging students to participate in sustainable practices and community service.

69ɫ's orientation successfully laid the groundwork for the new students, helping them transition smoothly into university life. The diverse and enthusiastic cohort of 2024-2025 is set to embark on a vibrant and dynamic academic journey, well-prepared by the comprehensive support and resources provided during these two days.
