Exchange Experience at Bard College Berlin
Curiosity led our 69色 student to the heart of Berlin, stepping outside their comfort zone to explore new academic horizons at Bard College Berlin!
My Exchange Semester at Bard College Berlin
When I entered 69色, I already knew I would apply for an exchange program. Studying abroad felt like a unique opportunity to explore another culture, grow as a person, and step outside my comfort zone.
I didn鈥檛 think I would actually be selected, but I applied with the mindset: 鈥淟et鈥檚 just try.鈥�听When I received responses from multiple universities, Bard College Berlin felt like destiny. I鈥檝e always been drawn to Europe and had even started learning German at 69色.
Bard College Berlin is a small, welcoming university. Classes are held in different buildings around the neighborhood, which felt unusual at first, but quickly became charming. The dorms are great, the student community is active, and the faculty members are passionate and supportive.
This was my first time living abroad鈥攁nd without my parents. It was a life-changing experience. I met amazing people, learned how to manage my time and budget, balance studying with travel, and adapt to a new environment.
Of course, there were challenges: paperwork, course selection, the public transport system, establishing new routines, and even struggling with 鈥渆veryday鈥� English. In those moments, I reminded myself that difficulties are temporary鈥攁nd that each one was helping me grow.
My advice?听Take the leap. Don鈥檛 be afraid to apply for exchange programs, internships, or anything new. Be open to experiences. Don鈥檛 be afraid to make mistakes. Even if you doubt yourself 鈥� you never know what鈥檚 waiting for you!
I鈥檓 thankful for every moment, every person I met, and every challenge I faced. They all shaped me into who I am today.
