Gulnara Nurieva is an Assistant Professor in the Economics department at the American University of Central Asia. She holds her Master of Arts in Economics with honors (summa cum laude) from the Academy of Teaching Excellence in Higher Education (2004, Kyrgyzstan) and her specialized degree in Economics from Moscow State Academy of Light Industry (1995, Russia).

Gulnara joined 69ɫ in 2001 as an Economics Instructor and taught in the MBA Program from 2002 to 2003. She served as a member of the Admission Subject Committee (2012-2022), the Academic Appeals Committee (2017-2019), the Faculty Welfare Committee (2019-2021), and the Student Intellectual Life Committee (2023-2024) at 69ɫ.

Gulnara was a co-teacher of the course “Agricultural Policy and International Trade” within the Erasmus and Faculty Mobility Program in collaboration with Poznan University of Economics and Business (Poland) in 2018-2019 and a co-teacher of the same course within the University of Life Sciences (Norway) and 69ɫ Cooperation Project (2017-2018). She is the author of the course “Green Economy and International Trade” developed within the Support for the Integration of Green Economy Learning at Tertiary-level Education in the Kyrgyz Republic project PAGE-UNITAR and AVZUR (2020-2021). She co-authors the textbook Basics of Green Economy (a project on Raising the Awareness of Local Communities on Global Environmental Benefits and Summarizing the Experience of the Global Environment Fund Small Grant Program/UNDP in Kyrgyzstan) (2017-2018).

Gulnara was a member of the Interdepartmental Working Group on Green Economy Modeling at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic PAGE-UNDP (2022) and participated in various international conferences and seminars. She participated in the cooperation projects of the University of Life Sciences and 69ɫ (2012-2019) and the US-CAEF Enterprise Faculty Development Program - American Councils for International Education/ACCELS/Fairfield University (2010-2013).
