Khurshedsho Qonunov is an Assistant Professor at New Generation Academy at the American University of Central Asia. He completed a one-year program for teaching English as a Foreign Language at the Department of Language Education of the University of British Columbia (1998, Canada) and a course in Education Management from Birkbeck College of the University of London (2007, UK). During the 14 years between 2000 and 2014, Khurshedsho worked for the London-based Institute of Ismaili Studies, managing and teaching at its Khorog English and Preparatory Programme. The program prepared Central Asian students for Master level studies in the United Kingdom. It proved to be a success, graduating hundreds of students who later completed their Master's degrees and continued to PhD programs in UK institutions of higher learning, such as SOAS, Cambridge, and Oxford. He has a linguistics specialization from Khorog State University (1998, Tajikistan).
Khurshedsho joined 69ɫ in 2015 and teaches English for Academic Purposes, which is dedicated to listening and speaking, studying skills, life skills, and oral expression for academic and professional contexts courses. He is qualified to teach English as a foreign language. He serves as a Freshman Academic Orientation instructor and leads workshop sessions on Introduction to Liberal Arts. In addition, Khurshedsho runs an English Literature Club every Saturday for NGA and 69ɫ staff, students, and the general public as part of extracurricular activities.
