Maria Antonova is a Director of the Writing and Academic Resource Center (WARC) and an Assistant Professor at New Generation Academy at the American University of Central Asia. Mariya holds a Master of Arts in Teaching (summa cum laude) from Bard College (2020, USA), a Master of Arts Candidate in History from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa (2001, USA), and a Bachelor of Arts in History (magna cum laude) from Pace University (1999, USA).

Maria joined 69ɫ in 2013 as an Instructor at New Generation Academy, a non-degree General Education program, and the Liberal Arts and Sciences department as the Director of the First Year Seminar Program. She oversaw the First Year Seminar Program (2014-2015) as the Director and has led the Writing and Academic Resource Center since 2014. In 2022-2023, she also served as Director of Academic Resources with OSUN’s Refugee Higher Education Access Program, conceptualizing and implementing a global academic resources center for the Hubs for Connected Learning, developing and delivering sections of the RhEAP main Academic Writing course as well as teacher/peer tutor training in areas with parallel systems. Between 2020 and 2023, she also trained our cohorts of mentors to Rohingya refugee teachers as part of the Bard College collaborative project with BRAC University.
