The Sustainability Program under the Center for Civic Engagement is thrilled to announce that the American University of Central Asia (69ɫ) has earned a STARS Bronze rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). This makes 69ɫ the first institution in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia to achieve this honor.
STARS, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System, is a globally recognized framework for assessing sustainability performance in higher education. This milestone recognizes 69ɫ’s commitment to sustainability across five key areas: academics, engagement, operations, planning & administration, and innovation & leadership. This achievement brings international recognition to 69ɫ’s sustainability efforts and opens doors for continuous improvement and strategic planning. The STARS Bronze rating is the result of the collective efforts of 69ɫ’s Sustainability Program, the Sustainability Task Force, and the entire 69ɫ community. Together, we continue to push for positive change, ensuring that sustainability remains a key focus in our academic and operational practices.
