"Because of the problem with unemployment and lack of production facilities and factories in the Kyrgyz Republic, our compatriots are forced to look for work in other countries, and in particular in Russia. Since wages in Russia are about 4-5 times higher than in Kyrgyzstan, while food prices are almost the same according to the data of the national statistics committee of the Kyrgyz Republic. Another negative side of migration is that children remain in the care of relatives. In which there is a risk of family disintegration.

The photographs depict migrants from Kyrgyzstan who live and work in Siberia, at Surgut city, in an oil company, by drillers. For 5 years, in spite of the cold and conditions, they have been working out of arms in order to send the money, which they earned to their families in Kyrgyzstan. Due to the harsh climate and working conditions, some of them have health problems.
